NT Wright on the Kingdom in Paul

30 Jul

This one is a gift for my hyper-dispensationalist friends. Who will likely disagree, yet I find what Wright has to say here convincing at many points.

It would be also good for my emergent friends, who if they listen, will realize that he is not saying what they have said he is….(or what they are saying).

This is not the most lucid sentence you have ever written. Do you know a HD who claims that NTW agrees with them? I’d like to meet that person, should he/she exist.

In The Last Word NTW disavows dispensationalism as a whole. He is a good Anglican.

You are right….it was not very well written…That last sentence was aimed at emergents…not dispensationalist.

He certainly does not agree with dispensationalist at all. The second line was just a add on for the emergent set…who sometimes claim he means things he does not seem to. (though in Surprised by Hope he says all kinds of things that are suspect)
