Hey peeps my blog has exploded with people searching for Mark V. Rob. I am just wondering why? As far as I know nothing new happened…(since September) so if you are searching for this do me a favor and leave a comment telling why. If I can I will hook you up…if not at least I will be clued in!

Poop is emergent too 
My pastor and youth pastor (father and son duo) have infected our church with this crap. First they showed a 3 minute blurp of RB spouting inane conversation in a cafeteria, leaving a totally confused conversation. Then I find out from my teenage son he has been shown quite a few videos including the breathing excercies. I haven’t realized that since this pastor took over 7 years ago he has been doing the Rick Warren takeover the church thing, and our church is done to about 35 members. He is bullied, physically intimidated and removed most of the elders of our church, and many others who have left because of the youth pastor. It’s a long, sordid story, I was pulled in and God opened my eyes through Rapture Ready Forums and their constant study of apostate teachings and realizing what I had been shown in church. When I challenged the youth pastor on it, he got pretty nasty, and I realized I was being prepped for a lacky.
Rob Bell’s message is definately satan inspired, I believe that the AC will gain his power through the Christian church through people like this, not through Islam, Buddism etc. We are bringing the AC to absolute control over an emerging church of mysticism and universalism, the children have been primed for years through satanic suggestions, games, video’s, tv and the last stronghold is the fundemental Christian Church. We are the last wall of offense against satan. The walls are crumbling fast through deceivers like these.
Oh course here we don’t believe in the rapture (like the rest of the Christian world before 120 years ago…oh and the Bible) so I guess we are ushering in the air conditioning too….
Convergent Conference – Driscoll spoke of heresy from the pulpit and had Padgit, McLaren and Bell in his sights. But then again, this was in September and might be what you are referring to anyway.
I know of that one but the number of searchers in one day this week went insane like over a hundred Bell V Driscoll searches..I though maybe something new had happened.
Driscoll’s made some references to Bell that I’ve heard on the Mar’s Hill Church of Seattle podcasts, but nothing that I’m sure you haven’t already heard.

Hey, maybe she meant “Anti Christ”.
It seems that her idea of the Anti Christ is anyone who has a deeper understanding of Jesus then she does.
My motto is that if the King James version of the bible was good enough for Jesus to carry on his walks through Israel then it should be required for everyone!

Mark: That is a very funny post (and that my friend is what we are all about :))…BTW not that pagan New King James Bible either…no it has to be the Holy Spirit approved one that all the cults use to get people to kill themselves and knock on my door (not that those two things are related..)

I have one question. What have YOU done for the church lately?? As far as I am concerned Mr. Driscoll and Mr. Bell are on the same team fighting over what Bell refers to as “springs” and Driscoll refers to as “secondary issues.” If you’re asking me, the fact that “Christians” are online blogging about leaders in Jesus’ church makes Satan laugh hysterically as he roams the Earth… Guys… get on the same page. Its time Christians shut up, humble themselves and realize that Jesus is the only standard by which salvation is measured. If slavation was AT ALL up to us… We would all be burning in hell…
I found your blog through a random series of steps: I was reading The Shack, decided to look up online if it was true, found Mark Driscoll’s arguments, googled Mark, and google suggested Rob Bell at the bottom of the page. I wondered if/how they were connected, and bam! here I am.
Yeah – I’m looking forward to this Rick Warren air-conditioning to kick in, I was sweating on the way into work this morning…
Landon, I essentially agree with you – thank God that salvation is not up to us; I know I’d have made a royal screw-up of it all by now! The issue does come when people are starting to follow teaching because it’s hip rather than because it’s true…Rob Bell claiming that the point of Jesus coming is to show that God’s not angry I don’t think tallies up with the Bible – if God isn’t angry then why did Jesus have to go through so much pain, agony and ultimately separation from the Father for our sakes?
And if God isn’t angry then why should I care how I act, because I know that I’m a sunbeam and God loves me and we can all skip merrily down the road together; me, my girlfriend, my boyfriend, my pastor the mass-murderer and so on – after all, God’s not angry at all this sin so why should we be?
My prayer is that those who hear Rob’s teaching are discerning enough to trust the Bible over his words…sorry, rant over – will relocate this to my own blog…
To answer your question re: why I was searching for rob & mark (specifically, my google search was for “mark driscoll rob bell”) — it’s because I saw a passing reference elsewhere on the net to “Mark Driscoll, pastor of Mars Hill church”. As I live near Grand Rapids, I’m familiar with Rob Bell (kind of hard to avoid ’round here), and wondered if he’d quit or died or something.
So, I googled both their names, and have since found out they have completely different Mars Hill churches in completely different parts of the country, and they had some sort of slapfight calling each other heretics or something.
Which, to me, is hilarious.
But then, I’m Catholic, so all this reinventing the theological wheel by any of these new “emerging” types (or whatever you call ’em) just makes me roll my eyes anyway.
Anyway, I’ll get back to my saint worshipping and leave y’all to it. Toodles!

heresy is not hilarious as the Catholic Visitor stated it is dangerous and evil……..read the book the War on Truth…………it is excellent at exposing this thing they call the emergent movement. It is just satan deceiving the church…………those who dont know , really know the word of God. Satan is coming in through the church, and beguiling the leaders into not believing in sin, hell, revelations, or even that Jesus is our Savior , the only way!

what TINA said above has also happened to our church. Our youth pastor took over as lead pastor, then got all excited by Rob Bell, and everything was about NOOMa videos………the church is now emergent but they wont admit it……..but sooo many older people have left due to the unscriptural teaching that is going on they get new young people who have not been churched………….I am sad for the church
couldn’t God speak through people we may not agree with? why are we so adament that our worldview is the only correct one? name a verse where it says that we should judge one another. i can find a lot using the greek word for judgement (which means divine judgement); another way to say it is that once we think we have a right to judge we have stepped into God’s shoes. God is not intimidated by different points of view of Him. Why should we? Well, at least to the point of tearing down other people.
1 Corinthians 5:12 For what have I to do with judging outsiders? Is it not those inside the church whom you are to judge? God judges those outside. “Purge the evil person from among you.”

Also God speaks through lots of people I don’t agree with…this is quite different than a human speaking differently than God. Either we have authority in Scripture or we don’t. We should not be ashamed of believing….
Rob Bell is sickening. As Scripture points out, his condemnation is not sleeping.
if you look the scripture MOST of the verses dedicated to people seeking forgiveness are those who follow God (the prophets were on stage for this very reason)…maybe we as the church with all of our anger and one-sided views of how things should be, maybe we should approach God and apologize for making him so small…other people, like Rob Bell it seems are trying to make him big again…so, are we willing to make God small by encapsulating him in human emotions and words…jews thought a name even have a name would limit God let alone our human views on him…
I just read through all these replies. Geez. I don’t even know what to say. I haven’t been to seminary…but I have a ton of close friends who have gone, and are currently going. My grandpa was a pastor in Texas (baptist, no less) for most of his life, and I’ve been “leading worship” for a small church in CA for a couple years now. That to say…Rob Bell’s insights have breathed life, and joy, and inspiration into people from all spectrum’s. (and McLaren, and Lamott, and CS Lewis, and Don Miller, NT Wright, etc) It seems like most of the comments on this site are very fear-driven? In regard to specific doctrines, most of us are quite mixed up. Most seminary students agree that the book of revelation is allegory…so as far as ‘the rapture’ and ‘anti christ’ are concerned…they represent something other than ‘being sucked up into heaven’ and a ‘specific man’ who becomes the devil’s instrument of deceit / destruction.
My post is not likely to chance anyone’s mind, but that’s okay. There’s grace for us all. And we DO need discernment..but it goes across the board…from so-called ’emergent’ pastors / authors…to the black & white ‘i take the bible-completely-literal pastors / authors.’
